Join us to welcome Port Townsend author, circumnavigator, and former Wooden Boat Festival director, Kaci Cronkhite for a reading, stories behind the stories, and photographs from her acclaimed book, Finding Pax: The Unexpected Journey of A Little Wooden Boat.
With a decade of ocean sailing and six years as director of the Festival, Kaci knew better than to buy a wooden boat. But, when Pax’s (Peace in Latin) beautiful curvy photos surprised her in an email, she couldn’t resist. What transpired over the next seven years was a love story, a mystery, and a quest.
Pax’s history in Denmark, British Columbia, and California had been lost.
One by one, Kaci found ten prior owners and their families connecting generations over 70 years.
